It’s been about 2 months since I’ve started my new job with DadaABC and I couldn’t have asked for a better job to match my new and current lifestyle. I’m in school online, I’m living in a foreign country with my husband and with an unpredictable everyday lifestyle and a calendar full of travel, having a job that I can do ANYWHERE seemed ideal but I didn’t think it was actually possible. Since moving to France I had been thinking about teaching English for a while but without working rights in France just yet it seemed like it would be a lifetime until I would be able to teach in a classroom. After doing some research on the internet I came across DadaABC an online teaching company… WHAT?!
What is DadaABC?
DaDaABC is an online one-on-one English education platform for children between 4 to 16 years old. YES online!
How does it work?
Dada provides the lessons and the students using their online platform, and I provide the teaching. Since DadaABC is an ONLINE education platform providing students in different countries with English lessons, as a teacher I have the ability to work from anywhere I want; as long as I have my laptop and reliable wifi! Working and traveling.. what can be better than that.
What is the hiring process like?
My experience with the hiring process at DaDaABC was professional and smooth.
Requirements: Native english speaker and Bachelors Degree.
- Online Application: I applied online on the DadaABC website, attached my resume and clicked submit.
- Skype Interview: Within a week I received an email from the company saying they had received my application and asked for my availability for a Skype interview. Following a successful Skype interview came a demo class.
- Demo Class/TPR training: Before my scheduled demo class I went through TPR (total physical response) training with my Dada recruiter. During the training I had an internet test to test the speed of my internet, followed by a lesson full of Do’s and Dont’s for online teaching and more information about how to use the online teaching portal. A few days later I had my scheduled demo class which I was pretty nervous about leading up to. I wasn’t sure what it would be like, how to prepare or even what type of lesson I would be teaching and to who. 24 hours before my scheduled demo time, I was able to log into the portal and preview the lesson and prepare for my demo. I had ABC flash cards and Color flash cards handy as well as a Monkey puppet just in case I had trouble grasping the students attention. Before I knew it my first 30 minutes of teaching were over and I Within minutes I had an email congratulated me and welcoming me to the DadaABC team. Woo hoo!
Upon getting hired with Dada I was able to choose my start date as well as my working days and hours, Dada has done the rest. Now, a month into teaching… I have about 18 regular students all from different parts of China. I also have a pretty solid teaching schedule with about 6/7 students every day I teach, working 3 hours a day! My students have been an absolute joy, and it has been such a rewarding feeling seeing them progress day by day and building relationships with them. It’s awesome!
My DadaABC Teacher Story
I started my career right out of high school dancing for the NBA Orlando Magic Dance team where I got the opportunity to have my first few experiences traveling outside of my country. It was during my first few travel experiences that I fell in love with the idea of experiencing new places and cultures. It was such an incredible feeling to see the world from another point of view. I later continued working in entertainment and fitness for a few years to follow and about a year ago I made a big move to France from the United States to join my now husband. I had no idea what I could do for work being in a country where I did not know the language. With a career change and English teaching on my mind for a while now I thankfully came across DadaABC while browsing the internet. DadaABC has given me a job where I can use all I have to offer to help children in China learn English! Teaching english for DadaAbc has been the best work experience I have ever had. With a smooth interview process and a reliable team to work with once being hired, I couldn’t be happier with my experience at DadaABC. Working for Dada has given me the freedom to create my own schedule, work from home and even travel while working which is the best part for me! Whether it’s visiting my family back in the states or traveling around Europe with my husband, I can bring my job with me and that makes life so much easier! The students at Dada are great, and teaching has been so much fun. You know they always say “find a job you love and you’ll never work a day in your life”… That’s what DadaABC is for me!
