Me, again. Reminiscing on past getaways. Amsterdam and many other beautiful cities are only a short hour drive away from Lille. We’ve been pretty bummed about the fact that we can’t be out exploring on a day like today...I took this photo right outside of our air Bnb this past August. G and I sat at this cafe on the right each morning before starting our day of exploring. I loved spending our days biking through the canals. It’s was such a charming city! Is Amsterdam on your travel bucket list?!

Photo from Guadeloupe summer 2019 but mentally I’m here. ☁️🙏🏽☀️ Guadeloupe is a French island located in the Caribbean (I didn’t know that before meeting G 😅) G’s dad is from Guadeloupe and it’s a huge part of G, his family and their culture. I fell in love with Guadeloupe the first time I went and I’m looking forward to hopefully returning this summer. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 Have you guys traveled to Guadeloupe yet? 🌴 ☀️ 🇫🇷

France just announced a country wide lockdown that will last until around May 15th 😅 With that said, the weather is getting warmer (thank ya Jesus) so I’m looking forward to being able to break up my work/study at home schedule with a couple days a week at the park. I’ve been working on revamping my blog site and trying to organize everything to get all of the expat/travel/pcos/infertility info out to you guys! I’ll be sure to let you guys know when everything has been updated! 🤓📚💻🇺🇸✈️🇫🇷

Went a little darker with my hair and got a trim 💇🏽‍♀️ Here’s the thing, when you move abroad nearly everything will feel a little bit different. Even something as universal as a trip to the hair salon. What I’ve learned is to be ok with things not being exactly like they are back home in the US. I might complain every now n then when something doesn’t go the way I expected it to (I’m human) but my experience abroad got so much better when I stopped allowing the comparison between France and the US determine how I feel about France. The more open minded I’ve become, the more I’ve been able to find the good in every situation and truly embrace my experience here. Maybe customer service is a little different in France, maybe French people are generally blunt when they speak... but that’s fine...It’s honestly made me less sensitive as a person overall so I’m generally happier if that makes sense.
